How to position the device

The Helder 2 operates at 20 cm from the target area using the arm mount. For the shoulder, position the device facing the aspect of the joint most relevant to your issue — anterior, lateral, or posterior. The arm mount keeps the session hands-free throughout.

1

Set up the arm mount

Attach the Helder 2 to the arm mount. Position the device face 20 cm from the shoulder joint — front for anterior shoulder and biceps tendon, side for lateral deltoid, rear for posterior capsule and rotator cuff.

2

Select body mode at full power

Set the Helder 2 to body mode, full power. Verified output: 10.47W total — NIR 856nm: 9,242 mW · Red 631nm: 1,228 mW. The NIR channel provides the deeper penetration relevant to rotator cuff and joint capsule structures.

3

Run the session

Hold the position for 20 minutes. Wear appropriate eye protection. For comprehensive shoulder coverage, rotate targeting across sessions — anterior one day, lateral the next, posterior the third.

Session guidance

Daily or five sessions per week is the standard protocol. Rotating targeting across sessions gives comprehensive coverage of the shoulder joint — anterior, lateral, and posterior aspects in rotation. For rotator cuff issues, posterior targeting is most relevant.

Most users report noticeable improvement within two to four weeks of consistent daily use. Combine with gentle range-of-motion exercises where appropriate.

Safety & contraindications Do not use over open wounds, acute infection, or post-surgical sites without practitioner clearance. Always wear eye protection. If you are on photosensitising medications, consult a practitioner before use.

Frequently asked questions

20 cm is the standard working distance for body mode. Use the arm mount to maintain this hands-free throughout the session.
Front for anterior shoulder pain and biceps tendon issues. Side for lateral deltoid. Rear for posterior capsule and rotator cuff problems. Rotate targeting across sessions for comprehensive coverage.
20 minutes per session in body mode. You can target different aspects of the shoulder across separate sessions on the same day if needed.
Daily or 5 times per week. Consistent daily use over 2–4 weeks is standard for shoulder recovery protocols.
Yes. For rotator cuff, posterior targeting is most relevant — position the device 20 cm behind the shoulder, aimed at the posterior capsule and supraspinatus area.
