Helder 2 lower back protocol — 20cm · 20 min · body mode
How to position the device
The Helder 2 is a distance device. Unlike on-skin wearables, it operates from a defined working distance — 20 cm — using the included arm mount. Incorrect distance is the single most common user error with distance PBM devices.
Set up the arm mount
Attach the Helder 2 to the arm mount. Position the arm so the device face is 20 cm from the lumbar region of your lower back. Sit, lie, or stand — whichever keeps the 20 cm distance stable for 20 minutes.
Select body mode at full power
Set the Helder 2 to body mode, full power. Verified output: 10.47W total — NIR 856nm: 9,242 mW · Red 631nm: 1,228 mW. Do not use head mode for lower back — head mode runs at half power and is reserved for face, scalp, and thyroid applications.
Run the session
Hold the position for 20 minutes. Wear appropriate eye protection. Do not look directly at the LEDs. The arm mount keeps the session hands-free throughout.
Session guidance
Consistency matters more than any single session. Daily or five sessions per week is the standard Helder 2 lower back protocol. Most users report noticeable improvement within two to four weeks of consistent daily use.
Morning or evening — there is no evidence that time of day affects efficacy for musculoskeletal targets. Choose what you can maintain.
